3 Ways to Use Social Media to Grow Your Holistic Business

3 ways to use social media to grow your holistic businessAre you using social media to grow your holistic business? More specifically, are you using social media in a strategic way to attract more clients to your practice? Social media sites can be an excellent source of new prospects and clients, but can also be a huge waste of time and effort if you aren’t doing it right. Here are a few ways to use social media in a positive, heart-centered business building manner.

Be Intentional
It is so easy to get distracted by all the fun and interesting things being posted by your friends on social sites,  I know how that is! You jump on a site to post something and before you know it you are clicking and clicking away on everyone else’s stuff – and while that might be fun, it isn’t doing a lot to help you attract clients – so it is up to you to set limits for yourself.

The solution is to be intentional about your social media use. Schedule specific times when you will use social websites for business purposes and stick to it. Use that time to post your own content and links, to participate in relevant conversations, and to write and reply to business related messages. The more intentional you are about your social media use, the better results you will get from the time you spend.

Be Relevant
When using social media to promote yourself or your holistic business it is important to keep the majority of your postings relevant to you and your field of expertise. The biggest problem most people have on social sites is separating their personal lives from their business presence online. This is especially true on the bigger sites like Facebook, where your personal profile is an integral part of what people see. The idea is that you want to think about the image you are projecting to prospective clients and customers. Is the image they are perceiving in alignment with how you want them to see you and your business?

While there is nothing wrong with sharing your interests with your online community, the main focus of what you post and share and comment on should be related in some way to what you do and what solutions you offer. That is how the people who need you and your unique talents will be able to find you.

Be Consistent
The best way to maximize your use of social media to grow your business is to be consistent in the way you post. It is important to post on a regular basis. Of course you don’t want to over do it, and post so much stuff that you drive people away, but you also don’t want to post too infrequently either. Do that and they forget about you or see you as an inconsistent person. The key is to find a middle ground that keeps you in front of your prospects.

Remember, people don’t buy from strangers, they buy from people they know, like, and trust. Each posting you make, each comment you leave, each link you share back to your resources, all help people know you, like you, and trust you – and when that happens, they’ll be much more likely to choose you if you have the solution to their problem.

Put It All Together
Each of these three strategies, being intentional, being relevant, and being consistent, will help you get the greatest benefit out of the time you invest in using social media to grow your holistic business – or any business for that matter.  Social sites can be a great source of new clients or customers, but only if those prospective clients and customers perceive you as the solution to their problems. So get strategic about your social media use and you too can begin attracting an abundance of new clients and customers to your business.
